Community Engagement Day

Our community engagement event was a great success! It was held at St Catherine's Hospice Education Centre with event costs going directly to the hospice. Attendees included hospice staff, care home staff, medical professionals and the general public.The event aimed to engage a non-academic audience with the pilot project's aims and achievements so far and to gather ideas, suggestions and questions about how this research stream might develop in future. The event included talks from some of our academic event attendees on Animal Assisted Therapies (Elena Ratschen), Multispecies Medicine (Bentley Crudgington) and Cross Species Conversations (Vanessa Ashall) and all the project's graphic outputs were displayed as posters. We enjoyed plenty of great discussion and populated our graffiti wall with new ideas and questions from the community to take with us into the next phase of the project ..
